Prizm Supporting Atherstone Marching Band

Atherstone Youth Marching Band was formed in september 2002. We currently have 45 members comprising young people from 8 to 24 years old.The band is a registered charity which aims to develop a sense of enjoyment and achievement amongst its members, the band works to improve the quality of life of young people by - (1) Developing their physical, spiritual and mental capacities, and (2) advancing their knowledge and education, through the art of performance, music and dance.

Members are drawn from a wide range of backgrounds and experience, giving them a chance to learn to play a musical instrument and engage in structured activities designed to develop their team working and performance skills. Some of the members would otherwise have limited opportunities to learn such skills.

The band participates in local carnivals and fetes and also competes as a show band which involves music and co-ordinated movement.We as an organisation rely completely upon fundraising and charitable donations in order to meet the costs of working with these young people.
